Our schedule has some fixed elements at specific times. There are fixed times for warm food, sandwiches, drinking and eating fruit. The specific details of a day’s program depends on the age and the specific needs of the child. Through this repeated, structured daily routine the children know what they can expect. This gives a familiar trustful feeling.
BABIES will be cared for when they need it in close coordination with the parents. They will get food and drink when hungry and sleep when they are tired.
The rest of the time they can play in the play pen or the baby corner, or sit with a teaching assistant.
TODDLERS eat and drink at fixed times. They sleep according to their needs and / or the wishes of the parents. The remaining activities are adapted to the age and the needs of the child.
Children may choose from a wide variety of toys and activities.
Broadly speaking, we use the following schedule for toddlers (2-4 years):
7:30-9:00 |
Children are brought, a brief talk with the parents saying goodbye to them. The ‘waving’ from the window gives many children a feeling of confidence. |
09:00-9:30 | Free play (children can choose something to play with), an activity together with the pedagogical staff, individually doing something with a teaching assistant or playing with the other children. |
9:30-10:00 | In a circle there will be group davening (morning prayers) and some explanation about what is happening. |
10:00-10:30 | Drinking and eating fruit at the table for everyone, followed by singing or reading stories to them. |
10.30-11.30 | Toilet and clean-up time. Outdoor games, free play or an activity. |
11:30-12:00 | Joint warm food and sandwiches at the table. |
12:00-14:00 | Rest Break. For the other children playing outside, free play or an activity. Individually or in a small group. |
14:00-14:30 | Joint drinking and eating at the table. |
14:35-15:15 | Crafts and games. |
15:15-16:30 | Toilet and clean-up time. Outdoor play, free play or an activity. Individually or in small groups. |
16:30-18:00 | Parents may pick up their children. |
This is a general schedule. Each day the activities with the children is reviewed. The group composition is taken into account, as is the weather (e.g. if it is hot, then the children will get more to drink in between). We also consider the coming holidays.
On purpose we have quiet activities at the end of the day, as the children are getting tired. For example, the reading of a book, quietly coloring at the table, or letting the child play alone.
Drop off and pick up
To preserve tranquility in the group we have fixed times for bringing and picking up:
Bringing: between 07.30 and 09.00.
Picking up: between 16:30 and 18:00.
In the daily bringing of the children, we try as much as possible to let the parents say good bye according to a regular ritual. The ‘waving’ from the window gives many children confidence at the farewell.
Central phone-number
The gan has it’s own phone with WhatsApp.
