Language is an important tool for understanding the world. A child asks and gets explanation and help through language. The teaching assistant plays an active role by listening to the child and talking with the child. This happens as much as possible in correct Dutch, so the children absorb it. Also the assistant reacts as much as possible to the utterances of the child. In doing so there is a maximum connection between the experience and personal emotions of the child. For the children who are only speaking another language at home , that language will be used in the beginning to teach the child Dutch.
Because Tzemach HaSadeh is a Jewish day care, Hebrew words will be used so that the children can also become familiar with the Hebrew language and letters.
For example, singing (both in Dutch and Hebrew) with the children, is an important activity to stimulate language development. The same applies to games with sound and noise, and reading stories.
